Scope: This regulation applies only in Türkiye and concerns content published for a Turkish audience. Vibemetri’s compliance checks described here are likewise Türkiye-specific.
Ad labeling on social media isn’t a new topic — but as of 1 August 2026 the standard becomes clearer and the scope widens. The amendment to Türkiye’s Commercial Advertising and Unfair Commercial Practices Regulation clarifies what’s expected in social media influencer advertising. This article summarizes what changed in plain language, explains what it means for brands and creators separately, and shows how you see these in a Vibemetri report.
What changed, briefly?
The headline points:
- The label wording is clearer. To show that a post is an ad, a clear phrase such as “Reklam” (Advertisement) or “Tanıtım” (Promotion) is expected. On their own, tags like
#işbirliği(collaboration),#sponsorlu(sponsored), or “paid partnership” may not be enough. - The advertiser’s identity must be visible. The post should also name who the collaboration is for — i.e. the brand’s name / handle.
- Visibility and ordering matter. The disclosure should sit where the user sees it before consuming the content, not buried in a stack of hashtags. Videos are also expected to include a spoken disclosure.
- The scope widened. Not only paid work; collaborations such as gifted products, affiliate/commission, giveaways, and event invitations are also treated as advertising.
- AI disclosure. When AI-generated content or a digital character indistinguishable from a real person influences the consumer’s economic behavior, this is expected to be disclosed; creating a false impression of experience or endorsement via an AI copy of a real person is not acceptable.
- Young audiences (art. 9). Advertising to the 13-17 age group based on personal-data profiling is restricted.
- Environmental claims (art. 7). Phrases like “eco-friendly” or “sustainable” are not expected to be used without evidence.
What it means for brands
The key point: responsibility isn’t only on the creator. As the advertiser, your brand is also within scope. In practice:
- Set the labeling out up front in the brief and contract — write the expectation down rather than leaving compliance to chance.
- Make sure the label isn’t just
#işbirliği, but carries the “Reklam/Tanıtım” phrase together with your brand’s name. - Treat gifted, affiliate, giveaway, and event collaborations as advertising too — they may also need labeling.
- Consider AI content, environmental claims, and young audiences as separate checks in your campaign plan.
What Vibemetri does for brands
Vibemetri offers no legal guarantee; what it does is provide visibility — putting a missing or insufficient label in front of you in the report, with no post-publication surprise:
- Every report automatically scans the content’s caption: is the “Reklam/Tanıtım” phrase and the brand name present?
- If only
#işbirliği/#sponsorluis found, it’s flagged as an “insufficient label” warning and as a constraint on the Brand Safety score. - The ordering of the label and, on YouTube, a spoken disclosure (when a transcript exists) are also checked.
- AI content, environmental claims, and the 13-17 audience share are shown as separate signals in the report.
- When setting up a campaign, you can attach the labeling-standard note and the signed contract in one place.
The checks are Türkiye-specific and transparent — we explain what we flagged and why.
What it means for creators
Good news: compliance is a simple hygiene step once you build the right habits. Under the new standard, in practice:
- Do: Add “Reklam” or “Tanıtım” to your post, next to the advertiser’s name/handle. A simple format:
REKLAM | @brand. - Do: Put the disclosure at the very start / a visible spot; in videos, also say out loud that it’s an ad/promotion.
- Don’t: Just write
#işbirliği,#sponsorluand leave it, or bury the label inside a stack of hashtags. - Remember: Gifted products, affiliate/commission, giveaways, and event invitations can also count as advertising — label those too.
- Disclose: If you used AI-generated content or a digital character, say so.
What Vibemetri does for creators
Vibemetri makes it easy to see whether your content meets this standard: the report checks the label in your caption and, if it’s missing, shows it as a red warning. That way you can see where you fell short before publishing or fixing the post.
Why it matters
Labeling can feel like a chore, but it actually strengthens trust with your audience. People have the right to know whether what they’re watching is an ad. A recommendation that honestly says it’s sponsored is more convincing than a hidden ad — because the audience feels they weren’t misled. Compliance both reduces legal risk and, over the long run, is an investment in reputation.

Summary
From 1 August 2026, the labeling standard for social media advertising becomes clearer and the scope widens: the “Reklam/Tanıtım” phrase plus the brand name becomes required, gifted/affiliate/giveaway/event collaborations come into scope, and there are new expectations for AI content and environmental claims. Responsibility is shared for brands; for creators, a few simple habits are enough. Vibemetri makes these visible for you in the report — not as a guarantee, but as a transparent check layer you see before you decide.
